As it know to all, track and field has a long history and the natural movement developedAs it know to all, track and field has a obviously long history and the natural movementdeveloped on the basis of running, jumping and casting of human being, which is also theclosest to the natural means of physical exercise and the most basic surviving skills that caneffectively improve the conditions of functional organs that belongs to the body system. Inaddition, the dynamic movement can also effectively improve the speed, strength, endurance,sensitivity, flexibility and other physical indicators of individuals, which represent the basis ofvast majority of land-based sports, once occupied the absolute dominance in the PhysicalEducation Curriculum in China. However, after the promulgation of the2002Ministry ofEducation,“University and College Physical Education Curriculum Guidelines "(hereinafterreferred to as the" Program "), together in a variety of elements, the courses of track and fieldswiftly countered with declining in most of colleges and universities. By far, the majority ofcolleges and universities hasn’t been basically carrying out optional courses of track and fieldany more. This article select the course of track and field of twelve universities in Nanjing asthe study samples, and by means of literature, questionnaire survey, expert interviews,mathematical statistics and logical analysis, researching and analyzing on the reasons relatedto the "lost" of track and field course from the perspective of psychology, education, sociology.Eventually drawn the following main conclusions:1.From the perspective of psychology, because of the characteristics belong to track andfield, which usually has the negative perceptions on college students, also affect students’elective dominant motivation, meanwhile positive understanding of them could also play arole in the secondary motivation selection of optional courses, which is the internal factor ofthe "lost" of track and filed courses.2.From the perspective of education principles, the curriculums of the college track andfield courses has close similarities with the primary-and secondary-school, the teachingmethods are also relatively homogeneous, does not reflect the true characteristics of the trackand field, so that students lost interest in track and field courses; teaching evaluation system isnot perfect so far, which ignored the inspection of the magnitude of progress students made,also easily lead to sense of failure to college students, at the same time not only reduced theenthusiasm for learning to them, but also failed to effectively arouse the students’ sense ofcompetition, can not form a conscious exercise effect. This is one critical external factors ofthe “lost” about track and filed courses.3.From a sociological point of view, the implementation of the College PhysicalEducation optional courses selection system promote students have the right to select theirfavorite sport courses, the improvement of the sports facilities in colleges enhanced studentsto have choices, subject to the impact of multi-cultural collision, track and field courses wereintegrated by other sport events, which has naturally became a means of physical fitness tests.This is another crucial external factor of the “lost” about track and filed courses.4.Track and filed have many characteristics just as relatively low tactics, low spacerequirements, economically low expenses and free time participation which can not be easilyreplaced by any other events, it is not hard to carry out in any universities. The significant functions of track and field, have a positive meaning to improve the physical fitness of collegestudents, college sports, strong will shaping and social adjustment, which absolutely could notbe lack of. Recommendations are as follows:1.Courses of track and field in colleges should target the "healthy" and "lifetime sports" asthe ultimate teaching goals. First of all, the goal is not to promote the formation of a particularskill or physical fitness,but to effectively improve students ’physical health, we must dare toinnovate, whatever is conducive to the students’ physical fitness and healthy development ofthings can be introduced to the track and field teaching. Secondly, to the college students toinstill the health value of track and field, to grasp the scientific-oriented track and fieldtraining methods.What’s more, to change the values of college students’ on track and fieldafter they left campus, and to maintain a soft spot for sports, enhancing inner power oflifelong exercise.2.The selection of college track and field teaching contents and methods should based ondeveloping students’ interest as a precondition, the selection of teaching contents can expandthe range of track and field courses, add some fresh track and field teaching contents, such as50meters on stilts, the collective to jump Nagaami, handling pumpkin in100meters,5minutes drought Seedlings, slow riding bike, the skipping chasing,50meters carryingsandbags relay race, and some outdoor projects such as mountain climbing, directedcross-country, outdoor real watercolor shooting and so on; In addition to using traditionalsports games on the choices of teaching methods, also can bring in some high-tech teachingmethods, such as Microsoft’s somatosensory game, so that students can get the thrill of thegame. In short, to use every means to increase the monotony of track and field courses, and toalter the negative impressions of difficult contents and which out of fashion, useless learningon college students, meet the needs of the students curiosity and get pleasure during thelearning process of track and field courses.3.Meanwhile, reforming the present physical fitness evaluation system: groups as thebasic unit, to increase students’ sense of teamwork; based on class ranking to determine theindividual results rather than the fixed score game, actively show off the competitivecharacteristics of the track and field; Enhance students ’sense of competition, to meet students’need of desire and performance achievement; increasing magnitude of the various parametersaims at improving the quality of students in various fitness exercises which incorporated intothe evaluation system, completely stimulate the enthusiasm of the students’ daily exerciseroutine. Reduce students’ sense of failure, let them feel that the examination of the track andfield course is also full of human care and very easy to pass. While taking advantage of theranking of the network effect, have a strong incentive to promote the students to participate inphysical exercise.
