"To establish a mechanism for the integration of urban and rural compulsory education development" is formally presented in the National Mid-to Long-Term Plan for Education Reform and Development (2010-2020).The key to the construction of the integration of urban and rural education is to promote the development of rural education, the core lies in upgrading of the soft power such as the rural school teaching culture.Therefore, this study can provide some theoretical guidance for future research to the rural schools teaching culture, and further improve the teaching quality of rural schools in practice, accelerate the process of rural education modernization, narrow the gap between urban and rural education, and ultimately realize the integration of urban and rural education.The study is divided into six parts:The first part illustrates the research background, purpose, significance, research methods and the core concepts.The second part reviews related researches through the literature to sum up the past research focus, deficiencies as well as the revelation.The third part theoretically analyzes the requirements of the integration of urban and rural education and the appeals to the integration of urban and rural culture for the rural schools teaching culture.The fourth part investigates the current status of rural schools teaching cultural construction by using the questionnaire survey.The fifth part makes a deep analysis on the investigation results, combined with the theoretical interpretation of the third part, analyzes the problems of the rural schools teaching culture in the process of integration of urban and rural education. The research conclusions are as follows:The Current rural school culture exist any confusion and ravel in these aspects:First, pursuing to enter a higher school and the reality, one-sided entrance orientation and complete educational concept. Second, leaving their homes to abandon agriculture and staying township to help agriculture. Third,transplanting urban mainstream culture and inheritance local culture value.Fourth, developing general education and providing vocational skills. Fifth, the reality of teachers’ poor professional consciousness and the demands of reshaping their role consciousness.Sixth, a relatively closed cultural patterns and a new type of teachers’group culture characterized by cooperation dialogue vision.The sixth part puts forward some improvement strategies for the rural schools teaching culture in the process of integration of urban and rural education. First of all, it should clear about the new value orientations:Improve the rural students’ basic quality and cultivate qualified citizens; Foster the students’ cultural identity and self-confidence to the local traditional culture; Meet the rural students’ pluralistic demands; Serve in common development of urban and rural education and culture. In the second place, put forward some improvement strategies:Firstly, concern about the situational nurturing and emotional optimization to establish a new type of teaching culture.Secondly, build up integrative thinking to promote common development of urban and rural education and culture.Thirdly, develop local teaching materials and school-based curriculum to promote the inheritance of rural cultural values. Fourthly, increase vocational technical courses and vocational skills training appropriately to meet the rural students’ pluralistic demands. Fifthly, establish rural learning schools to improve the consciousness and ability of rural teachers’ professional development. Sixthly, set up long-term effective mechanism of exchanges and strengthen difference-cooperation between rural and urban schools.
