With the deepening of China’s education, the diversification of education needs, private vocational colleges go into the period of rapid development.It provides a large number of technical talents for China’s production, construction, management and service, becoming an emerging force of higher vocational education, and has played an important role in promoting the reform and development of higher education and meeting different people’s demand for higher education.As the development of vocational colleges, faculties determine the level of its brand effect. While those private vocational colleges are at a disadvantage position in attracting faculty because of their private properties. Thus the private vocational colleges must focus on establishing a stable teaching body of high-quality and properly structured. Therefore, the private vocational colleges are determined to strengthen performance management system construction. At the same time, private vocational colleges possess some enterprise features, so they can introduce the concept of corporate performance management, then innovate and manage the construction of private vocational college system.Hunan Urban Professional College, as a representative of private vocational institutions in Hunan province, whose performance management is a representative, is selected as an example. First, from the theoretical perspective, the preliminary research of the performance management and theoretical basis have been explored; Second, the current situation of performance management in that college is analyzed, several shortages coming out, including that unclear presence understanding, unreasonable index, single evaluation mode, the lack of systematicness, inadequate evaluation mechanisms and insufficient outcome feedback; Third, basic conditions of performance management are analyzed, including the objectives, principles and design route; Finally, according to the entire process of the performance management, this paper optimizes the performance planning, performance coaching, performance evaluation, performance feedback and performance utilization for performance management of the city of Hunan Vocational College.With this research of Hunan Urban Professional College, the performance management system of those private vocational colleges is supposed to be established, providing theoretical support for the development of performance management, as well as in different sectors. Moreover, the optimization of theory and specific measures in the teaching performance management of that college make the performance management level of the college higher and promote the strategic goals to be realized.
