Preschool education of secondary vocational school students in China can not be optimisticabout the quality.To make them adapt to the needs of future work, we need do reflective abilityof pre-service training. The development of the social software provides a new way to cultivatesecondary vocational students’ ability of reflection. Around the problem which is about how toapply social software training secondary vocational students’ reflective ability in the teaching of“Early Childhood Studies”, this study applied social software in writing reflection log on thebasis of previous research results. After three rounds of action research, this study explored andbuilt the mode of appling social software to train secondary vocational students’ reflective ability,and also verified its effectiveness. By this study, the research of system of reflection ability isenriched and the application of social software in secondary vocational education is expanded.This study did these works as followed.First of all, through literature review, this study summarized the development of "reflectiveability" and "social software", and expounds the status of “reflective ability" and "socialsoftware" about the dometic and abroad. The research ideas and research methods weredetermined.Secondly, the concept of "reflection, reflective ability, reflective level" and "socialsoftware" is reviewed, and then the concept, structure and levels of “reflective ability ofsecondary vocational school students” were defined, and the main theoretical basis of this studyalso is introduced which included social cognitive theory, the theory of learning community andthe theory of knowledge management.Furthermore, this study made the preparation before the action research which included theanalysis on “Early Childhood Studies” courses to determine the object and content of study, thepreliminary investigation and creation of reflection platform based on the results.Then, in the2012-2013academic year, this study carried out three rounds of action researchwhich began from a plan and ended to reflection in each round action research. the conclusion of reflection was drawn which was the basis of the next round of action research by the analysis oflog content, the investigation of questionnaire and the interview, and then promote the study ofapplying social software to cultivate secondary vocational students’ reflective ability to a higherlevel in a spiral way.Finally, on the basis of three rounds of action research, the mode of appling social softwareto cultivate secondary vocational students’ reflective ability was refined and constructed; thedetailed methods and strategy of cultivating the students’ reflective ability were summarized withthe help of applying social software in class and after class. Meanwhile, the study also analyzedthe shortcomings and presented future research directions, such as selecting suitable evaluationstandard for measuring reflective level of secondary vocational school students, and buildingperfect reflective platform on social software.
