Sukhomlynsky is a great theorists and practitioners in Ukraine, his powerfulpersonality charm and great contributions on education, attracting a large number ofadmirers and followers constantly to learn and research his thoughts on education. Many education experts at home and abroad from different perspectives analysis andstudy of his education thought, but research on his self-education thought is not so much.Sukhomlynsky is not only propose the idea of self-education, but also put it intopractice. He is recognized for the granddaddy of self-education thought. This paperattempts to study systematically the profound viewpoint self-education, absorb theself-education essence, and explore the value of self-education in our educational circle.At the same time I hope to it cause more education experts and scholars focus on theissue of self-education, and actively promote the practice and development ofself-education in china.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is presented topics reason, significance, research methods, researchideas, presented research results at home and abroad, further analysis of the meaning ofself and self-education.The second part is to analysis the background of Sukhomlynsky’s self-education.
