Encouraging students to participate in the university curriculum management is aconcrete embodiment of people-oriented idea, and also is the effective way to improve students’sense of social responsibility and Quality of citizens. The curriculum management is a part of themost relevant interests of students in university management. This article choose the localuniversity curriculum management to carry out the relevant research. From the broad view,student participation in curriculum management is advantage to the cultivation of applied talentsin local university, and is advantage to promote the healthy development of the curriculumreform. From the narrow view, student participation in curriculum management is advantage todemocratization of curriculum management in university, to improve curriculum managementefficiency, and also favor to improve students’ participation ability.The Beginning of the article is a brief introduction to the research background of students’participation in university curriculum management, simultaneously, the article introduces ofcorrelation studies abroad, elaborates the related concepts. A total of three parts are included inthe article. The first part is research of the meaning of students’ participation in local universitycurriculum management; the second part this study use questionnaire and interview survey toinvestigate the problem of students’ participation in local university curriculum management andanalyze the courts; the third part, put forward suggestions for improvement students’participation in local university curriculum management on the basis of investigation andanalysis, including.The research results are showed as following: The will of majority of students to participate incurriculum management is very strong. But, there are following limitations: local universitycurriculum management the curriculum management system in local university is inadequacy.For students, it is lack of participation channels and the publicity of information, the studentscan’t understand the information timely. The participation frequency of students is low, theparticipation of content of students is incomplete and the number of participants is less. Thereasons are as follows: for university, a lack of democratic participation culture, curriculum management system is not contribute to the students’ participation, part of curriculumadministrators’ democratic consciousness is weak; for students, the right consciousness andcapacity of students is poor in university curriculum management. To guarantee studentsparticipation in university, on the one hand, university must be review the system of curriculummanagement and optimize the structure of curriculum management team. On the other hand,developing students’ democratic participation consciousness and improving students’ ability incurriculum management.On the basis of current status, this study takes Lin-yi University for example, for the otheruniversity it can offer some references for them. Meanwhile, to the healthy development ofuniversity curriculum management,, the embodiment of the education democratization and theguarantee of students’ participation right has certain reference significance.
