Classical poetry is the important part of Chinese civilization as the treasure of Chinese traditional culture. The best contains fully the great national spirit. However, the current situation of the classical poetry teaching is found not to be optimistic according the questionnaires, and the classical poetry teaching in middle school has lots of problem. Under the wave of the new round of course reform, the classical poetry in middle school should use good experience of the course reform for reference positively and serve itself hardly. At the same time, it is necessary to combine the new course idea with the classical poetry to make the reform of the classical poetry teaching in middle school come true.In this paper, the conversation is used to study the conversation idea and the classical poetry teaching in middle school. In order to know the current situation and problem of the classical poetry teaching in middle school, the writer makes the related questionnaire surrey about students’ study situation and teachers’ teaching situation of the classical poetry, and then analyses the problem in the questionnaire survey deeply to find four kinds of problems in the current poetry teaching, which are the hegemony in conversation, the passiveness, the simple and the disorder and points especially that the idea of conversation education as the new course idea should be injected into the classical poetry teaching, and the idea should be used fully to find a new way for the classical poetry teaching in middle school.After that, the idea, meaning characteristic and practical significance of the conversation education are studied deeply. Martin Buber’s and Bakhtion’s conversation theories and Paulo Freire’s, ManabuSato’s and constructivism conversation teaching theories are stated, and the conversation, the conversation teaching and the main characteristic of the conversation are summarized to make the theoretical basis for the following state. At this basis, the necessary and feasibility of conversation education idea being applied to the classical poetry teaching in middle school are demonstrated more. The aiming to the practical situation of the classical poetry conversation teaching, how to permeate the conversation idea into the classical poetry teaching is stated. The content is summarized from six aspects. Firstly, make the aim of the classical poetry conversation teaching, which is discussed from two aspects of the three-dimensional target field and the different speakers. Secondly, establish the circumstances of the classical poetry conversation, which contain contradictory circumstance, emotional circumstance, questionable circumstance. Thirdly, screen the topics of the classical poetry conversation which can be designed by three methods of the character of the question, the way of the question generating and the discuss between teachers and students. Fourthly, optimize the way of the conversation between students and the classical poetry text, lead the students into the conversation teaching better by reading, commenting and comparing. Finally, establish scientific and effective evaluation mechanism, which can be optimized by combining the target evaluation and the subject evaluation, teachers’ action and students’ action, delayed evaluation, encouraging evaluation and moved evaluation to provide an opener place for the classical poetry conversation teaching.
