American Modern Character Education’s Enlightenment To Our Country’s School Moral Education

Since1980s, character education show a tendency to return to the tradition.To90s, character education becomes the mainstream of American Moral Education. There is a great significance to research American modem character education, it has a positive reference on the development of our country’s moral education.This article firstly describes the modern character education’s concepts and features; Secondly, it analyzes American modern character education’s theory, content, principles and methods; Then it analyzes American modern character education’s progress and limitations, and the existent problems of our country moral education. Finally it summarizes American modern character education’s good inspiration to our country’s moral education:First, it is not a lack of core values education; Second, to promote school moral education curriculum reform, in order to make all disciplines become the moral education’s positions; Third, change unidirectional knowledge transfer,and respect the student’s dominant position; Fourth, optimize the school moral education environment and create a good campus cultural environment; Fifth, school moral education should not be derailed from real life, it should help students to do with the unity of knowledge and action in real life; Sixth, school, family and society make concerted efforts to form an education effort.
