The purpose of this paper is to propose how contemporary art can be integrated into the Wuhan City high school art appreciation course and how to integrate the high school art appreciation course. Wuhan is the center of central China’s educational development, art and culture also has a corresponding development in the development of the arts, their education should also follow the development.Firstly, the status of teaching in Wuhan, by the analysis of student enthusiasm for art class, is not high, probably for the students do not understand the background of traditional painting, lack of knowledge on the art of passive education so that students do not learn interest in art, and the content of textbooks and more traditional art, but art disciplines have been visible to the pursuit of the times, we define the paper said contemporary art, to clarify the characteristics of contemporary art, contemporary art is not the pursuit of purity, using material drawn from public life, with all the characteristics of the times subvert the traditional arts, help students out of conventional thinking, a more tolerant attitude towards aesthetic. But not all are suitable for high school students studying contemporary art, discusses how to select high school students to learn the content of contemporary art in this article.Finally, students learn how to make contemporary art in the classroom, through the introduction to the appreciation of traditional lesson, and through experiential teaching methods for students to have direct experience of contemporary art, to encourage students into the galleries, enjoy more works of art, so that students can have a more tolerant attitude towards aesthetic, learning to course content more diverse, and finally the author conducted a teaching experimental.
