History is the people and the things that appeared in the past, which has a long time and is never replicated. The story is the main way of historical heritance, the story is based on history, and the use of historical stories in the teaching of middle school has its unique authenticity, interesting, pertinence and education. It is proved that it is avaliable to use the historical stories in the teaching of history by the related theory of education, psychology and the layout features of history lessons in middle school. It can activate the learning history positivity of students, help students master the knowledge and cultivate good character of students. The author designed questionnaire about the use of historical stories in the teaching of middle school, the questionnaire and found a lot of problems by analyzing the data from the questionnaire. Most of the students said they like listening to the historical stories, but the educational effect is unsatisfactory.Through the survey we found that many students don’t like history class and more students obtain indirectly the historical knowledge from textbooks; besides,some students study history just to take an exam and some students think that it is unuseful for the, to learn the history. The author selected "Formation of the Three Kingdoms" from the textbook in Grade7, and raised the principles and strategies what we should pay attention to in the use of historical stories by comparing and analyzing two practical teaching case,which included that the teachers should combine with the individual differences of students in teaching,use the stories by different ways,select the stories based on the effective content and cultivate good character of students by using the stories.
