The new curriculum reform emphasized that play the subjectivity of students to promote students engage in teaching actively. Concerned about the student’s engagement and promote the effective participation of students, which are significance for students’ personal development and improving the quality of classroom teaching. The information technology course bears the responsibility to training students’ information literacy, the awareness of lifelong learning, abilities using information technology to solve real problems and learning the cooperation and exchange of information age. Therefore, the study of student engagement under the disciplines of information technology has important practical and theoretical value.This paper studies the problem of student engagement in information technology class of high school. Through literature analysis, this study drawing on the results of previous research, presented the research on student engagement of information technology. The main work includes:(1)Work out the interview outline of teachers on student engagement, and the questionnaire about the status of student engagement in information technology class;(2)Implementation of interviews and questionnaires, collecting the data for statistical analysis;(3)Explaining the status of participation and establish the correlation coefficient model for factors of student engagement;(4)From the perspective of influencing factors, to make certain strategies and recommendations. Conclusions are follows:(1)student classroom engagement in good condition;(2)gender, grade have little impact on student engagement, students’ achievement affecting the students’ active engagement;(3)individual, teacher, teaching contents and the environment of classroom factors influence the student engagement;(4) interest in learning, teacher-student relationship, classroom atmosphere are the three important factors affecting students’active engagement.According to the conclusions, this paper presents strategies and recommendations from two aspects:(1)From the perspective of the student consciousness,playing the initiative of students to promote students engage in classroom actively;(2)From the point of instructional design,from the import of context, the design of teaching content, the design of teaching activities to the design of teaching evaluation, to improve the effective engagement of students.
