Ideological and political course in high school shoulders the double task of moral education and intellectual education on high school students, is the main channel of socialist mainstream ideology education, can help high school students to form correct world outlook and correct outlook on life and values. Therefore, along with the reform of the basic education in our country, the innovation of the teaching method about the ideological and political course in high school is imperative. Inquiry teaching is one of the most important methods promoted by the teachers and students during the innovation of the teaching methods about ideological and political course in high school, it has a great effect on improving the teaching effect of the ideological and political course in high school. Since the new curriculum reform of the elementary education, along with the continuous development and progress of the society, the change of the environment, the continuing reform of the current school education, as well as the new characteristics emerged in the growth process of the high school students, it put forward some new requirements on the use of the inquiry teaching method in the ideological and political course in current high school. However, based on the influence of many objective and subjective factors, there also exist many problems on the use of inquiry teaching method.Therefore, it is necessary to research the current situation of the use of this method systematically, exploring the problems and the reasons existing on the use of this method, and then put forward countermeasures. The paper is divided into three parts.The first part:the analysis of the connotation, characteristics, application requirements and significance about inquiry teaching method used in ideological and political course in current high school. This part is mainly to analyze the connotation of inquiry teaching method used in ideological and political course in current high school, elaborately present the characteristics in its using process, and stress the relevant requirements that the method must be followed in the process of applying, describe the significance of this method using in the ideological and political course in current high school.The second part:analysis of the current situation about the use of inquiry teaching method used in ideological and political course in current high school. On the basis of the research, this part in the research summarize the good situation and the problems existed about the use of inquiry teaching method in the process of application in ideological and political course in current high school, and analyze the causes about the problems arising from the use of the method, in order to develop the countermeasures to solve the problems better. This is the focus of this paper.The third part:the countermeasures to improve the use of inquiry teaching method used in ideological and political course in current high school. Based on the problems presented from the second part, in order to receive better teaching effect about the use of inquiry teaching method in the ideological and political course of high school, this part put forward concrete countermeasures specifically from the perspectives such as cultivate the teachers’ inquiry teaching ability, cultivate the consciousness and interest of the high school students to participate in exploratory teaching, build effective exploration teaching evaluation system. This is the difficulty of this article.
