The paper explained the importance of ancient Chinese poem teaching inChinese education by following the requirements made by Compulsory educationChinese course standard. It made an analysis of the present situation and existingproblems of teaching in ancient Chinese poem teaching concerning junior schoolstudents (from Grade7–Grade9). Besides, it also made a conclusion of internationaland domestic progress in situational teaching, and made a study for ancient Chinesepoems in junior highs. Then according to theories and principles of situationalteaching and combing characteristics and content of ancient Chinese poems, the paperfurther put forward implementing strategies in teaching of ancient Chinese poems.The thesis incorporated three chapters. The introduction part made a briefelaboration of the choice of the topic and present study of it. Chapter one defined itsmeaning and expounded on its features and principles. Then it stressed significance ofsituational teaching in the process of teaching ancient Chinese poems. Chapter twostressed the importance of ancient Chinese poems in junior highs and introducedproblems existing in ancient Chinese poem teaching in four aspects. Chapter threeintroduced the implementing strategies of situational teaching and pointed out threeproblems that need to pay attention to. First, we need to create audio-visual situationsto fully mobilize students’ visual and auditory senses. Second, we should preparesome learning activities in the class so that students can actively involve themselvesin the class activities. While learning knowledge, their sense of beauty can also belifted, thus Chinese education, both as a teaching tool and as a way to impartinghumanity, can be perfectly integrated. Third, the teacher should raise some questionsconcerning on the poem, in which way, the students may be driven to think positivelyand will finally get a comprehensive understanding of the poem.
