As lifelong learning has become one of the mainstream educational thoughts,learning society becomes a kind of social ideal in the world. Every modern peoplemust learn continuously and have the ability of lifelong learning in order to achieveinnovation, improve themselves, adapt to the development of times and win a place inthe fierce competitions of knowledge society. At present, the secondary vocationaleducation undertakes the task that cultivates hundreds of millions of high-qualityworkers and skilled personnel in the vocational education system of our country.Especially with the development of market economy in our country and the needs ofthe adjustment of industrial and labor structure and the high-speed growth of skilledtalents demand, it is more important to develop the secondary vocational educationwell and cultivate highly skilled graduates with continuous learning ability.Meanwhile, the secondary vocational students are in a critical period of lifedevelopment. Secondary vocational schools should take the initiative to adapt to theneeds of learning society, pay more attention to the cultivation of students ability tolearn, teach them to learn, and lay a good foundation for their future developmentwith training their employment ability.This paper first analyzes the domestic and foreign research status about students"learning ability", further defines the concept and the core competence of "secondaryvocational students’ learning ability", and makes a research on the main factors ofaffecting the ability of secondary vocational students learning.Second, this subjecthas carried on the questionnaire surveys and interviews in Qinhuangdao MunicipalSecondary Vocational School and Vocational education centers in Qian’an region ofwhich students’ learning ability present situation. The results have been analyzed todiscover problems and causes. Finally, on the basis of education psychology, learningpsychology, the theory of multiple intelligences, the mastery learning theory and thetheory of the human brain science it puts forward to improve the ability of secondaryvocational students learning the countermeasures in four aspects: First, improvesecondary vocational students’ learning enthusiasm, make them “studious”; The second, strengthen the training of the secondary vocational students’ advantageintelligence, enable students enjoy learning; Third, develop secondary vocationalstudents’ autonomous learning ability, let them know how to study; Fourth, make theconstruction of a good learning environment, promote them to learn.
