This paper intends to theoretically analyze the concept of autonomous learning, research history and status quo of autonomous learning and autonomous learning in the field of physical education. By giving questionnaires on Physical Education autonomous learning ability to the secondary vocational school students in different grades, different genders, different majors and analyzing, this paper presents the development levels and differences of the secondary vocational students and find out the factors that affect the ability of the students in the secondary vocational school students’ ability to study independently, so as to carry out targeted guidance and help. This research mainly uses the literature method, questionnaire survey method, mathematical statistics method and other research methods, and Self made "the secondary vocational students’ physical self learning scale" as the measuring instrument, as the measuring tool to compare and analyze students’ development through five dimensions as students’ learning motivation, learning content, learning methods, learning process, learning achievementin different grades, different genders and different majors.Through comparison and analysis, this paper proves that first of all, there are significant differences in three learning dimensions as learning content, learning process and learning achievement while there is no significant difference in learning motivation and learning methods between different genders. On the total score, the boys are significantly higher than girls. Secondly, there is no significant difference in the other threelearning dimensions except for the differences in learning results in different grades. Thirdly, There are significant differences in the aspects of professional differences, the total scale and the learning content, the learning process and the learning outcome. Fourthly, there are no significant differences in the learning motivation for all students. Thus, the conclusions are drawn as follows: 1 The development of Physical Education autonomous learning ability for secondary vocational students has significant gender differences; 2 There is no significant difference in the development of Physical Education autonomous learning ability for secondary vocational students in different grades; 3 There are significant differences in the development of Physical Education autonomous learning ability for secondary vocational students in different majors; 4 There are no significant differences in the learning motivation for all students; 5 Secondary vocational students regardless of gender, grade, professional, the overall physical ability of autonomous learning is at a low level.
