Poetry teaching is an important part of Chinese teaching in elementary school. Poetry teaching has been key tache among Chinese teaching and aesthetic education,and plays a significant role which no other branchs of teaching can replace.To do the research of teaching practice, teachers have to accord with different phases of developing psychology and different features of every single child.Based on the definition of poetry in elementary school’s teaching, from a perspective of culturing linguistic ability and poetic thinking, and following the developmental psychology of elementary school’s children, this article is trying to reveal the research of three grading research on elemantary school’s poetry teaching which called lower grade,middle grede and higher grade. On the basis of the auther’s personal practice and other excellent teachers and experts’research and experiences, this article does two parts of work. Firstly, the auther abstractly holds the elemantary school’s poetry teaching on the whole, and discusses on the overall function, task and method of elementary school’s poetry teaching. Then this article puts forward an unified and supreme task which is improving children’s aesthetic ability and cultivating children’s imagination. Secondly, respectively analyzing the thress grading task and method of poetry teaching, the auther holds that because of the differences from each grading of children’s developmental psychology, tasks and methods vary with the needs from children and the requirements for teachers. For achieving the best effect of teaching, tasks and methods must be changed in time. Through poetry teaching, children’s good sentiment and positive attitude can be cultivated at the the layer of sentimental education; children’s linguistic ability and expression ability can be cultivated at the layer of intellectual education; children’s aesthetic abilty and imagination can be cultivated at the layer of aesthetic education.
