Economic globalization and regional economic integration is the two big trends of world economic development after the Second World War. These countries join the regional economic cooperation organization to safeguard the economic interests of them. The establishment of the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO) and it makes great achievements in promoting China and central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan), especially in China’s Xinjiang and central Asian countries’economic and trade cooperation. But Xinjiang economic and trade cooperation with central Asian countries has a huge space for development which is still in the primary stage.Central Asian countries’economic construction has achieved remarkable results since their independence in the past20years. The Kazakh economy grows with the fastest rapid and its mercerization is the highest which uses its resources to revitalize the country; Turkmenistan has abundant natural gas resources and its economic development speed is also fast; Uzbekistan’s economy develops steady which depends on their cotton; Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are lack of resources relatively their economy grows slowly. But they have very rich reserves of water and electricity to be exploited.Central Asia is of great significance for China, especially for Xinjiang from the geopolitical strategy and economic development. Central Asia is known as "energy base in the21st century" and China’s rapid economic development of dependence on the world energy market is growing strongly, so China and central Asian countries have broad spaces for cooperation in the field of energy.Since consider revising and opening up30years ago, China’s rapid economic development, mainly in manufacturing industry. They have clear advantages in such aspects as capital, technology and management and these are the foundation of bilateral cooperation.Central Asia country developed relative lag in terms of light industry, especially supplies manufacturing industry. Xinjiang light industry base is superior to the central Asian countries, at the same time the domestic abundant light industrial products and daily consumer goods can pass continuously transported into the central Asia market from Xinjiang.Xinjiang is the most development potential province in western China. And it has some unique geographical advantages and cultural advantages in the development of economic and trade cooperation with central Asian countries. Xinjiang is distributed to be the bridgehead to the west and to develop the central Asian market in China. It is help for achieve the leapfrog development and lasting stability of Xinjiang by developing the economic and trade of Xinjiang and the central Asian countries.In this paper, though reviewing China’s Xinjiang and the central Asian countries economic and trade cooperation, analyzing the problems existing in the both sides in the economic and trade cooperation and putting forward some suggestions about Xinjiang and the central Asian countries economic and trade cooperation are meaningful to China’s Xinjiang and the central Asian countries economic and trade cooperation.
