Agriculture land consolidation, as the primary content of land consolidation, isan indispensable part of land use. And the evaluation of potential for farmlandconsolidation and optimization of allocation scheme are the important theoreticaldirections for agriculture land consolidation. Therefore, one of the key steps of landconsolidation is to quantify the comprehensive potential of farmland consolidationreasonably and perfect the allocation scheme.The study site is located in Xushui county in Hebei province. We firstly evaluatethe quantity, quality and ecological potential of farmland consolidation in differentvillages and countries (towns), and then modify the potential class with urbanizationpotential corrections and special factor corrections, and finally calculate thecomprehensive potential by the weighted average values in different countries (towns)and classify them. After that, we could optimize the allocation scheme for agricultureland consolidation and provide directions for future adjustments of land consolidationscheme in Xushui.Results for the evaluations of potential: we find that the farmland increases1106.48hm2for quantity potential, from general farmland consolidation with2.50%and basic farmland consolidation with2.32%. The grain increases42993465kg forquality potential, and the maximum and minimum increase of quality potential class is2and0in different countries(towns). The carbon pool increases9316.53tC forecological potential, which is positively correlated with quantity potential of farmlandconsolidation.Results for modification and classification of the potential: Each country (town)shows0~2range in each consolidation potential. According to the comprehensivepotential classifications after modifications, we suggest to divide the whole countyinto three region: prior-consolidation region, important consolidation region andgeneral consolidation region.Optimization of allocation scheme: the projects for farmland should be firstlyallocated to Cuizhuang, Gaolin and Dongshiduan, which are located in the prior-consolidation region. The remaining should be arranged to importantconsolidation region and general consolidation region according to the principle ofoptimization of allocation scheme. Through the comparisons between distribution ofprojects for agriculture land consolidation under direction of the current policies andunder the condition in this research, we suggest that projects should be turned to someother prior-consolidation regions such as Cuizhuang and Dawangdian in the future tomaximize the comprehensive profits.
