Research On The Relationship Between Industrial Efficiency And International Competitiveness Of Equipment Manufacturing Industry In Liaoning

Equipment manufacturing industry is an important guarantee for the country’seconomic development and progress and is the backbone of China’s social progress. So asone of the key cities for China’s industrial development, the development of Liaoning’sequipment manufacturing industry is playing a pivotal role. Thanks for the policy ofrevitalizing the northeast old industrial base in2002，the equipment manufacturing industryin Liaoning ushered in an unprecedented opportunity for development. Combined with theplanning objectives of the "Eleventh Five-Year" that the "Made in China" should besupported by the "Chinese equipment", the equipment manufacturing industry in Liaoningobtained encouraging results. But in recent years, the development of equipmentmanufacturing industry in Liaoning is not satisfactory, which presented a huge challenge tothe development of equipment manufacturing industry in Liaoning. Therefore, this paper iscommitted to building relationships between Industrial efficiency and its internationalcompetitiveness, in order to explore effective ways to improve industrial efficiency andpromote their international competitiveness.On the basis of Douglas production function and the traditional theory of comparativeadvantage, this paper has built indicator system for the measure of industrial efficiency andinternational competitiveness of the equipment manufacturing industry in Liaoning. Thepaper analyzes the impact of human and capital investment on the efficiency of equipmentmanufacturing industry in Liaoning with the use of DEA and measures its internationalcompetitiveness with SPSS. Finally, the paper combines the two analyses and establishesthe double endogenous variable VAR system to analyze the interaction of efficiency andits international competitiveness of equipment manufacturing industry in Liaoning. Andthe paper finds out the characteristics and problems of equipment manufacturing industryin Liaoning, such as the influence efficiency has on international competitiveness is with alag, capital and labor input show redundancy,the extensive mode of economic growth isstill the dominated economy, etc. Then this paper learns from foreign excellent development experience of related industries and thus proposes that somerecommendations should be adopted. By steadily improving industrial efficiency,makingthe allocation of resources reasonable, strengthening the scientific and technologicalinnovation and accelerating the transformation of the extensive economic growth mode theequipment manufacturing industry in Liaoning can achieve an overall development. Thispaper shows a very important practical significance to accelerate the realization of afundamental shift in the way of competition and the configuration of resources for theequipment manufacturing industry in Liaoning.
