In order to adapt to the development trend of expressway asphalt pavement constructionincreasing shift to maintenance and rehabilitation, asphalt pavement overhaul maintenancehas attracted wide attention at home and abroad. But it didn’t establish a standardized andunified decision-making processes for the overhaul scheme, recommend solutions areusually dependent on qualitative experience determined by policy makers, and the quantifiedcalculation method for program evaluation is not available. To a certain degree it limits thedevelopment of overhaul maintenance conservation. Therefor, in view of the situation ofcurrent overhaul engineering decisions large randomly, strengthening and standardizing theasphalt pavement overhaul design and decision-making research is of great practicalsignificance.On the basis of field investigation and document retrieval, the major types andcharacteristics of the pavement overhaul disease were summarized, pavement performanceevaluation and standards were raised. According to the pavement evaluation results, themaintenance measures under different indicators standard were summarized. The measurescould provide the basis for overhaul alternative scheme.The applicability and design methods of overhaul scheme at home and abroad weresummarized. And the characteristics, applicability and design methods of the three typicaloverhaul program for overlay program, refurbishment and regeneration program were detailedintroduced, which provided the foundation for overhaul alternative program design andprogram evaluation. Combining the engineering example, it was analyzed the overhaulprogram decision-making and selection methods,and pointed out the problem of currentlyoverhaul preferred scheme decision. Based on this, it is proposed the critical points for thedesign process of the overhaul scheme selection method.Referencing a lot of research data, it was demonstrated the feasibility of using multipleattribute decision-making as the overhaul program selection method, and summed that itneeded from determining the number of possible candidates, determining the overhaulprogram evaluation indicators and determining the weights of evaluation indicators threeaspects to propose a overhaul program selection method. The work flow chart using multiple attribute decision-making method to determine the preferred overhaul scheme wasestablished.Based on the program analysis of engineering examples, it was proposed asphaltpavement overhaul program evaluation indicators in terms of economic, technology,efficiency and feasibility. The weight of the overhaul program evaluation index weight wascalculated by using analytic hierarchy process. The overhaul program selection method ofasphalt pavement was ultimately proposed. And a application example using this method wasconducted.Through the quantized asphalt pavement overhaul scheme selection method, overhaulplan selection process of asphalt pavement was simplified by using the science of numericalcalculation. This provided a effective data basis for overhaul plan selection process, andachieved overhaul scheme selection for technical feasibility, reliability, and the scientificnature from the true sense. It is of great significance for the perfect road overhauldecision-making research and improve the level of road repair technology.
