This paper introduces the current situation and trend of secondary pressure water supplyat home and abroad, and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of five methods tosupply domestic water. It also proposes various parallel and series water supply ways suitableto highrises, super-highrises and out-of-codes high-rise buildings, presents standards of propervertical partition of highrises, super-highrises, and summarizes the basic formula of hydrauliccalculation in domestic water supply system. With the water supply system in the hotel-likeapartments as mock object and the help of the simulation software FLOWMASTER, thefrequency control of the water supply system of the building can be simulated and itsinstantaneous condition, as well as the relations between various parameters and time duringthe operation of the system, calculated. Based on the simulated result, the reliability offrequency conversion water supply can be analyzed, the reasonability of the designingparameters of the pump, which are responsible to customers’ satisfaction, checked andoptimized measures proposed. Through calculation and the conservation analysis of watersupply system of super-highrises, the most economical and energy-saving way, providingwater with a small pump at off-peak periods, is proposed.Transient calculation of system shows:(1) The actual flow of water supply system in five regions exceeds the theoretical flowcalculated. Without optimization on the equipment, the energy resource would result in hugelosses.(2) The flow velocity of the pump suction tube and pipe network in the engineering is small orlarge, therefore inappropriate for velocity section pipe diameter optimization, in order to achieve therequirements of the specification.(3) The pressure of pipe network could have been conformed to the demand of clients allthe time, which is one of the advantages of the frequency control water supply system.(4) When water usage fall into a low point, the consumption power of pump would belarger with supplying water to the main pump, and meanwhile it give rise to much moreconsumption on both electrical energy and money.(5) According to the simulated calculation of optimized system, it can be learned thatelectrical energy will be largely saved when we provide consumers with small water supplypump during the time frame of less water usage, and it is worth popularizing.
