Safety is the eternal theme in the electic power enterprise.The electic power in-sulated instruments is the necessary tools and safety guarantee for electic works, sothe electic power insulted insruments especially the insulated instruments for liveworing test is particularly important.However,the electic power insulated instrume-ts’s status quo is that less species can be test,more than the required testing equip-ment and inefficient.To this end, our company have set up a research and develop-ment group, the goal is to develop a new type of comprehensive testing equipment,the testing equipment wil solve a problem that a testing equipment can test differentshapes, different uses of all kinds of insulated instruments, and test efficient and ac-curate.This paper expounds the background, the selected topic significance and theinvestigation of the electric power insulated instruments’s testing equipments. Thr-ough the investigation, the team has ben clear about that the development of a newtype of testing equipment is necessary, and determine the direction of the develop-ment of this equipment. Next, this paper discusses the development thought of thisnew type of testing equipment, the development plan, the course of the developmentand the goal achieved. Based on the research of the classification of the electric po-wer insulated instrments, appearance size and the preventive test procedure, the gr-oup determined the develop ideas and solutions.in the process of development, thegroup has overcome several technical problems, and finally completed the develop-ment the new type of equipment.Next, This paper stated the application and benefit analysis of the new type ofequipment. By applying,this equipment is more dfficiency and accuracy than tradi-tional testing equipments. As the same time, the equipment put into use to creat theconsiderable economic benefits and social benefits.Finally, this paper summatizes the research results, and points out the defectsand insufficiency of the equipment.The next step, continue to invest manpower andmaterial resources to upgrade this equipment, make the equipment more advanced,dfficient and accurate.
