The Study Of The Environmental Elements Suitable For The Elderly In Retirement Community

The aging population problem has become a global issue which impacts politics,economy, society and culture etc. in every country. China, as a developing country, isnot only facing how will this problem develop also how to deal with a series of newproblems. Therefore, how to optimize the quality of the dwelling environment foraged people drew the attention of the whole society.Concerning the dwelling environment for aged people, not only will thematerial accommodation be considered but also the daily life requirement for the agedpeople such as education, healthcare, amusement and social security pension etc.Since aged people require specific physical and psychological care and they arebecoming less flexible towards the external condition, the dwelling environment forthem needs to be targeted to this special group. In this dissertation, a series of agedfriendly communities in United States, German, Japan and Singapore will becompared before a detailed analysis about how aged friendly environment is designedin China. Then it will conclude the elements that construct aged friendly environmentnamely amusement environment, healthcare amusement, traffic environment,education environment, relationship environment and service environment. At last, aseries of relevant suggested politics which will be listed to ensure the aged supportcommunities’ practice.The whole dissertation will be divided into five chapters: First is to introducethe study background, its study objects, ex-achievement, research purpose and studymethods; Second will be illustrating the aged support communities design mode andexperience in four countries namely USA, German, Japan and Singapore; The currentsituation and problems in Chinese aged support communities will be anglicized in thethird chapter; The focus will be put on the elements that constitute the aged friendlyenvironment in China; last and not least in the final chapter, A series of suggested measures to enhance the Chinese aged support communities will be discussed.
