Belt conveyor has the advantages of long distance, large capacity to reliable delivery, convenient to automatic control and centralized management, and becomes the key transport equipment to the modern coal mine production system. Ac frequency-conversion technology is more mature, which can effectively solve the belt conveyor’s big starting current, imbalance of multi-motor driving power and low light load efficiency. However, as the situation of the world energy crisis becomes grimmer, how to save energy and reduce emission and further to improve the light load efficiency of belt conveyor has caused people’s attention.At first, this paper analyzes the running mechanism of belt conveyor, the drive configuration should be in accordance with the largest volume and it’s often in light load condition which causes the waste of energy, thus the paper puts forward the optimization study for the motor light load efficiency. Asynchronous motor structure is complex, it’s hard to get the relationship between energy consumption and various variables, analysis on the motor loss shows reducing the controllable loss to enhance the efficiency of machine, then derives induction motor synchronous rotating coordinate system is deduced d-q axis equivalent circuit, considering the iron loss of motor model was established. System adopts vector frequency conversion control, and makes the system have good performance of speed adjustment, the search method of the minimum input power has optimal control effect, in this paper, on the basis of the introduction of PSO algorithm in particle swarm particle location updating method for weights and threshold of BP network structure of the modified PSO-BP algorithm was put forward the optimal flux, online optimization design efficiency optimization controller, finally introduced the DSP hardware and software design and implementation of vector control system.Finally simulation module is builder in the MATLAB/Simulink environment, it can verify the feasibility of scheme, the simulation results show that light load has more efficient, eliminates the most advantages in the torque ripple, has excellent dynamic capability, and guarantee the system stability.
