Automobile assembly is the last step before the customer gets the car. It has compl icated production process and many links. This is mainly rely on a lot of manual operat ion, which often causes stop line and repair problems, and reduce the efficiency of the production line. Recently years, SGMW is rapidly development and the product is also in shortsupply relative to the demand. In order to meet the market demand, it must be full of action to continue improvement,Therefore, this paper is aimed at surveying and solving the problem influenced the production efficiency in BaoJun assembly shop production line of SGMW. For example, the stop time of ANDON in line is too long, the balance rate of some individual sections is low, compared with other advanced production line there exist defects and waste in production line.Firstly, based on a large number of literature, the research and application status at home and abroad of GMS and IE and continuous improvement were introduced. And then the purpose and methods of the study is clear.Secondly, the field investigation and data collection was completed in the assembly plant of SGMW BaoJun. The company profile, assembly process, techno logica parameters, ANDON data and the balance of each section were described. Meanwhile, the existing long stop time of ANDON, balance of production line, defects compared with other advanced production line, and the other aspects were analyzed and mended.Thirdly, according to the results of the problem diagnosis, improved the problems and put forward the improvement schemes and suggestions from three aspects including the improvement of ANDON stop time, improvement of modular makeup problem, and reducing waste, with the theory and methods about GMS and IE.Finally, the comparison about the implementation of the solution or Suggestions and operation effect is analysis for different questions:(1)Working hours reduced to 53s from 60s and interior-one-section balance rate increased to 90.86% from 86.20%, after the improvement of on line balance on skylight manipulator problems; the stop line time in finish section reduced from more than twenty thousand seconds to five thousand seconds each week, after the improvement of finish section 33R station stop line issue. (2) Using Flexsim to simulate the assembly line before and after increasing door packaging line. The results showed that average output per shift can improve 6 cars after increasing door packaging line. By increasing the doors packing line, the station density of interior and finish section was decrease; Workshop production gradually rose with the line running, and the average daily output increased 13 auto per day than November; And paint scratch frequency also gradually decline, daily average cut frequency is 103 times that is more than 95 times November. (3)By reducing waste, the improvement about the five problems including the workstation material decorating, mistake proofing tools, instruments placing, operation adjustment and strengthening quality, which is significant effect.In conclusion, the methods combination of GMS and IE to continue improvement of enterprise is effective. It can improve the production line balance rate, reduce the stop line time, reduce staff operating involved and the level of fatigue, improve the workshop production, and eventually improve the production efficiency and quality of enterprises. At the same time, this research can provide reference for relevant enterprises to improve.
