China’s rapid economic take-off, more and more users of the electricity market, power consumption is growing, while customers increasingly demanding power quality. Our distribution network automation is still in the pilot phase, the majority of the region’s major pilot project with feeder automation-based, single function; in system integration, automation of each individual self-contained, the lack of comprehensive consideration; at the application level, but also still at an early stage of development. Especially for economically developed areas, how to take the most appropriate use of the distribution network. Smart distribution network as the cornerstone of the smart grid, the paper distribution network construction in-depth thinking.In this paper, on the distribution network to carry out the construction of domestic problems in a profound reflection, such as instant success, planning chaos phenomena of reflection. In this paper, according to the characteristics of the era of big data, this paper has made the related design of the distribution network communication architecture, situation of distribution network in Hefei area as an example, detailed analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of various netcom dispatch mode, put forward based on EPON communications to match the webmaster do network construction, electric power carrier and other branch communication relies on limited way of distribution network, superior communication adopts the wireless communication with netcom inquiry model, which achieved good effect in engineering application.
