With the quickening of the urban modernization, the amount of construction projects is increasing dramatically in China. However, there are a series of problems in the field, such as unscientific management, low technique level and insufficient sharing of information and so on. Project delivery modes decide how the project participants are organized and obviously influence its time, cost and quality. Therefore, research on delivery mode selection is very necessary. Most existing researches on project delivery mode selection adopt qualitative analysis methods such as case study. Mathematical analysis methods such as decision theory and empirical statistics are little applied. Thus they can’t depict the process of project contracting clearly and quantitatively. What’s more, they mostly define the selection as a single one-phase decision process on the micro level. But the studies about development trend of the modes on a macro level are lacking. Therefore, it builds the project delivery mode selection model adopting computational experiment method. The model combines the complex system theory and behavioral science theory based on construction practices. It studies the interaction process of owner and contractors under the influence of policy environment and market environment, and discusses the effect of owner preference, project complexity and contractors’ level on the development trend of DB and DBB.Through the simulation, it can draw several conclusions. Owner preference, project complexity and contractors’ level have significant impacts on delivery modes’ selection and development. The policy environment and market environment influence the modes’ final state. Improving the level of contractors is an effective way to enlarge application space of DB.
