The traditional small and medium sized manufacturing enterprises’ production has the characteristics of many varieties, small quantity, and the requirement is uncertain. As the capacity requirement plan’s organization is not accurate, it makes equipment happen to overload or lack of load in different periods, the equipment’s capacity and load is unbalance. On the other hand, the machining workshops will face many kinds of dynamic events in the manufacturing process, these uncertainties will affect the original production plan by different degrees. It will make the equipment’s capacity and load imbalance again and make the production task cannot be completed within the time specified. Based on MES(Manufacturing Execution System), it is important to research how to formulate a reasonable capacity requirements plan, how to analysis the equipment’s capacity in the manufacturing process, and how to develop a machining shop’s manufacturing analysis system.Firstly, according to the master production plan, on the basis of discrete manufacturing industry’s processing data in MES, make the rough capacity plan, preliminary estimate the manufacturing capacity of each working center, ensure whether it can meet the production plan. Find out the overload center, through the load forward method to balance the manufacturing center’s capacity.Secondly, establish a summary calculation method for the fine capacity manufacturing plan, according to the actual situation, calculate the workshop’s load by the limited capacity. Through the decomposition of duty work order and task work order, with the machining workshop’s current load information, make the production system’s fine capacity plan, pre-processing the imbalance, ensure the smooth execution of production task.Thirdly, propose a dynamic event analysis and process method for machining workshop manufacturing process. Through the reasonable strategies and methods to handle the dynamic events, ensure the equipment’s capacity can meet the requirements of production after the dynamic events, improve the responsiveness of production system to dynamic events.Finally, combine the actual production situation of a small and medium sized discrete manufacturing enterprise in Chong Qing, through the analysis of existing problems in the whole manufacturing process for the capacity and load, develop an effective capacity and load analysis system, by the practical application, demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of capacity and load analysis in MES.
