With the rapid development of China’s economy, it has led to the acceleration of urbanization process, the construction of large public buildings is growing rapidly, large public buildings with high energy consumption amounts to increasing proportion of the total urban area. This paper studies the energy consumption information of large public buildings in Chengdu, taking a city complex of Chengdu as an example, by analyzing the characteristics of its energy consumption and energy saving potential, it provides reference for the energy saving of large public buildings.Firstly, through the investigation of large public buildings in Chengdu, to understand the basic information and energy consumption information about various large public buildings in Chengdu City, according to the functional features of the urban complex, the energy consumption characteristics of different functional buildings are analyzed. Because of the important role of building simulation in building energy saving, this paper introduces the building energy consumption software De ST, and gives the detail modeling steps.Secondly, through the review of energy saving standards for the urban complex, the results meet the standard requirements. According to the simulation results of De ST software, this paper gives an overall analysis of building load characteristics and operation management, then gives a separate analysis of load factors of the main functional areas, it puts forward the energy-saving recommendations with the analysis results. Finally, the paper analyzes the energy saving effect of various energy-saving measures for the urban complex from both the enclosure structure and air conditioning system which Influencing building energy consumption, and it analyzes the rationality of different energy saving measures.
