Green building as an important part of sustainable development get more and more attention, and the thermal power plant in the area of green design research and development has just started, but has not yet formed a complete system theory and the practice of the comprehensive. This paper aims to research about the present situation and construction of thermal power plant factory, then analysis of the application of green building design strategy in power plants, as well as its disadvantages and advantages, and find out the problems existing in the present and reduce energy consumption of industrial construction, realize industrial building energy-saving green building technology application strategy, and demonstrate it through software simulation and design practice, then to guide the green design and construction of thermal power plants, to create healthy, comfortable space for production work, promote the efficiency of industrial production.This paper first sort out the basis of applied theory on the deep analysis of the green building technology at home and abroad, combined with physical environment factors related to industrial building design, to explore suitable for this type of industrial architecture design strategy in thermal power plant as well as passive design method, including the passive solar energy utilization, natural ventilation organizations, as well as building shading settings and so on. At the same time, combining with the environmental characteristics, reasonable factory planning, combined with the wind environment, light environment influence factors, explored design strategy to improve the quality of factory environment.Then, carries on the summary and the analysis of construction characteristics in in thermal power plants, and combining research of power plant project design case, analysis the application of the strategy for green building design conditions, the possibility and problems in thermal power plant.Finally, on the basis of the above theoretical research and practical problems in conclusion, the green building design strategies and passive design methods are used in the project of Huaneng laiwu power plant and the whole process of architectural design, use of the overall design idea, to solve the problems existing in factory and the construction, and connecting with the actual project, to carry on the physical environment parameter simulation and test with the computer, and then analysis the data comparison, to study the energy saving benefit, improve the use of green technology, make the architectural environment and space meet the expected targets of green technology after adjustment design, provides reference for the green design methods of power plant.
