University is not only the environment of academic education, and also provides a learning environment for college students into the community. Some formation of important relationships often appears at this stage. Erikson’ psychosocial development theory(1968) considered that the college student had an important task of the development of intimate relationships in the stage of the late youth and intimate relationships can grant college student a sense of love and belonging. The concept of intimate relationship ajustment is that companions develop a mature intimacy, satisfied but relatively independent relationships through communication and exchange of emotions and ideas with each other. In daily life, some college lovers’relationship is not suited due to differences in the character,and the personality traits is one of the important factors in the people’s choice of companion, so the personality traits may affect the adjustment of the college students’intimate relationship. In this study, we proposed theoretical assumptions about intimate relationship ajustment on the basis of reviewing literature and senting out the open questionnaire, and then test original questionnaire andformate a formal questionnaire.In the end, we use the formal questionnaire and the Big Five Personality Questionnaire to survey827college students with love the experience,the following conclusions:1. College students’ adjustment of intimate relationship is a multidimensional psychological structure, consisting of four factors:intimacy and satisfaction, growth and condensation, autonomy and independence, exchange and communication.2.<The questionnaire of college students’ intimate relationship adjustment> has a good reliability and validity, and can be used as effective tool of measuring of college students’ adjustment of intimate relationship.3. College students’intimate relationship adjustment is above the average level and there are obvious difference on grade, discipline, love time, love extent, but there are no difference on gender,long distance relationship.4. College students’ Neuroticism is above the average level and their Agreeableness is under the average level and college students’ Extraversion, Conscientiousness, Openness to experience is in the mid-range.There are obvious difference on gender about college students’ agreeableness.There are obvious difference on grade about neuroticism, agreeableness and Conscientiousness.There are obvious difference on discipline about neuroticism and agreeableness.5. College students’ Neuroticism and adjustment of intimate relationship exist obvious negative correlation.College students’ Neuroticism have significantly negative predicator of adjustment of intimate relationship and intimacy and satisfaction, exchange andcommunication. College students’ Extraversion and adjustment of intimate relationship existobvious positive correlation.College students’ Extraversion have significantly positivepredicator of Adjustment of intimate relationship.College students’ Openness to experience andadjustment of intimate relationship exist obvious positive correlation. College students’Openness to experience has significantly positive predicator of adjustment of intimaterelationship and intimacy and satisfaction, growth and condensation, autonomy andindependence, exchange and Communication. College students’ Conscientiousness andadjustment of intimate relationship exist obvious positive correlation.college students’Conscientiousness have significantly positive predicator of adjustment of intimate relationship.
