| With the fast development of the global village, Chinese is eager to see the worldby reading the world news, especially the relaxing entertainment news (Enews).Consequently, English Enews translation becomes a significant work and a researchtopic.As one of primary translation approaches, transediting is widely used to deal withthe world news in newspaper, broadcast, television, Internet and etc. Under theguidance of the Functional Equivalence theory (FE theory), the study is to exploreappropriate tranediting approaches of Enews by researching the Enews transeditted bythe author in Huanqiu website.Firstly, the author summarizes the background, purposes and significance of thestudy. Secondly, the second chapter is the study of Nida’s FE theory and its relevanceto Enews transediting. Then, the third chapter is to analyze the features of EnglishEnews to lay a foundation for the further research. And the fourth chapter, the majorpart of the thesis, is about the specific transediting approaches from the perspective ofFE theory. It is analyzed from three levels: words, sentences and discourse. At last, theauthor summarizes the strategies in the fifth chapter, and also figures out theadvantages and disadvantages of the research.In short, the purpose of this study is to research the Enews transediting strategiesfrom the perspective of FE theory. The author hopes that the research will makehumble efforts to Chinese Enew tansediting and the research on it. |
