Study On The Communication Model Of Sino-vietnamese Words In Vietnam

As a medium of culture, language is an indispensable part in the study of interculturalcommunication. During its long history, because of geographical and historical reasons, Chinaand its southern neighbor of Vietnam have carried out many mutual exchanges in terms ofculture and language. The lingual contact between Vietnamese and Chinese has beenconducted for a long time. From vertical communication point of view, this thesis describeshow, for thousands of years, the Chinese vocabulary has conveyed bright and magnificentChinese culture to every corner of Vietnam, from Vietnamese families, schools and pagodasto Vietnamese festivals and rites via individual and collective methods. In the mean time, thisthesis also discusses and analyzes the horizontal communication models of Sino-Vietnamesein Vietnam, such as the pattern maintenance of Vietnamese language, the adaptation ofChinese to Vietnamese, the blending of Chinese and Vietnamese languages as well as thevariation of Vietnamese language.The Chinese vocabulary has had influences on the development of Vietnamesevocabulary and Vietnamese culture, politics, and even Vietnamese people‘s way of thinkingas well. The spread of Chinese vocabulary in Vietnam has resulted in the Sino-Vietnamesewords. This thesis focuses on the communication models of Sino-Vietnamese words inVietnam in the view of communication study in order to research on the blending relationbetween Chinese and Vietnamese vocabulary. Basing on the research‘s discoveries, we canunderstand the history of lingual and cultural exchange between two countries and master thedevelopment principles of language and culture. Furthermore, this thesis can be useful toimprove the learning quality of Vietnamese and Chinese learners.
