Tourism industry is the important pillar of our national economy. In recent years,Red Tourism is a rising industry, which has attracted wide attention in society andbecame a research topic in the academic circle. The Red Tourism and the Research ofthe Development of Revolutionary Base is the latest research achievement.This practice report is based on the translation of the Red Tourism and theResearch of the Development of Revolutionary Base. Our translation team is entrustedby the center of tourism planning in Nanchang University. In the view of the scale ofthe project, the book includes14chapters, totaling320000words. We should finish theproject within60days. It’s a difficult、professional and heavy task because the worksmainly explains what is associated with economy、politics、culture and society, whichis a common theme in translation. This report introduces the source of task anddiscusses the preparation for the project, the analysis of the version and themanagement and control of the project. The report pays much attention to discussinghow we think, how we analyze the version and put forward the solution to theproblems confronting us. The report shows the difference between English andChinese as well as the translation techniques such as the understanding of words in thecontext、the integration and split of complex sentences, the adjustment of sequence inlong sentence and the management of sentences without subject.The classicalproblems will be classified and analyzed in this report. At last, the report concludes thedeficiencies in the translation and the requirement of being a professional translator.As practice reveals, translation is an activity associated with language、cross-culture and society therefore a translator should not only pay much attention toconveying information and translation techniques but also taking differences of culture、the function of the text、 target readers、requirement of clients as well asmarket. Besides, it’s important to abide by professional ethics and attach importanceto management and implementation of the task. Only in this way can translationachieve high quality standards.
