A Report On The Consecutive Interpreting Of American ArtMidwest-2015 Inner Mongolian Tour Culture Conversazione

This practice report is based on writer’s first time of being a consecutive interpreter in an official conversazione that happened in Inner Mongolian University for the Nationalities located in Tong Liao City between its teachers and students from Music College and the artists from Art Midwest Group U.S. on April 29th 2015. This report electes the welcoming part which Wu Suiwen the director of information office of Tong Liao City and Li Wenge the director of Party Publicity Department of Inner Mongolian University for the Nationalities giving welcoming addresses (translation from Chinese to English) and interaction part between American artists and Chinese teachers and students (translation between English and Chinese). The author focuses on discussing the problems appeared in the procession of interpreting and talks about the translation strategies and solutions.The report describes the preparation details the author did in the phase of "pre-interpreting" and concludes that through "pre-interpreting preparation", some mistakes and troubles could be eliminated or avoided during the following interpreting.Through the task description and analysis, the report provides that "pre-interpreting preparation" is the key to successful interpreting and understanding of content of speaker is supreme important during the task, which is recommended to make interpreting brief and easy to understand. In the Q&A section, interpreters are suggested to analyze the thoughts of speaker and make the target language audience totally understand.
