| Recent years have seen a rapid development in the area of cultural undertaking as a result of people’s growing needs for spiritual pursuits. To accommodate the demands therefore generated, colleges and universities have followed eagerly one after another in offering relevant courses of cultural administration, thus creating a mushroom effect in the pool of this profession.Given the urgent needs of the society and high attentions from the government, the perception and evaluation of vocational colleges on this emerging profession are nevertheless incorrect. The insufficiency of special knowledge for the work assigned, dissatisfactory practical skills, failure to meet the standard set for the professionals in this field are just few negative outcomes of the resultant erroneous training mode of professionals in this specific area.Fully aware of this fact, the author attempts to align the training mode of cultural administration professionals on the part of those vocational colleges with the actual social demands. Guided by the professional competence, the study aims to explore the competence features of culture administration professionals, build a feature model accordingly and experiment the model on Chongqing Vocational College of Art. By adopting a vocational-competence-model-based training mode for cultural administration professionals in vocational colleges, this study hopes to provide theoretical references for the training and cultivation of the culture administration professionals in vocational colleges.By way of literature analysis and behavioral event interview, this study has screened out 40 kinds of competence features to represent the overall characteristics of the professionals in the field of cultural administration. Meanwhile, both preliminary and formal questionnaires are composed and modified to acquire information on competency features and the proportion hereof in a more accurate way. Finally, the study makes effort to construct the competence-based training mode of cultural administration professionals and applies it to the practice of professional training. This model contains altogether 31 specific competence features, which can be further divided into six dimensions, namely, basic dimensions, plans dimension, organization dimension, control dimension, leadership dimension and interpersonal dimension. The construction of the model provides a solid theoretical foundation for the training of professionals in cultural administration. Last but not the least, this study tries the established competency model in the training mode of professionals in cultural administration in Chongqing Vocational College of Art and creates a specific training mode of for cultural administration professionals in accordance with the existent competence model and status quo of the college. |
