The Research Of Words In Beimengsuoyan And The Amendments Of Grand Dictionary Of Language

Beimengsuoyan（北梦琐言）(Bei for short in the following context)is a note book ofbroken news in history,written by famous writer SunGuangxian who lived in Late Tongand WuDai Dynasty. This book includes notes on the society and politics, historicalstories as well, also poetries and their poets, including the language facts related to theprofund ideas, words and activities, and social customs to carry on. Corpus of Bei isrich.Through the past until now,people have already less focused on discussions aboutbooks from the stance of lexicon,not to say the research on the preparatory study oflanguage of Bei.This piece of thesis trys to make a preparatory study from the point oflanguage.It is also composed of,four chapters, namely four parts. In the first part, I brieflyprovide some of the book I used and the versions of major ones, and the reason ofselecting this title through analysis, the author’s writing is full of language value andresearch methods. In the second part,I expound the function in Bei’s Grant prefix in theestablishment of the Chinese language dictionary thesaurus. And I also discussed thepossible meanings of words by showing actual examples and meanings of singlecharacters. In the third part,I expound the function in Bei’s lexicon to the GrantDictionary of Chinese Language in replenishing the meaning item by comparing thewords both appeared in Bei and included by the Grant Dictionary of Chinese Languageword by word. In the last chapter, I set out function to transfer the interpretation ofChinese Language Dictionary in Bei vocabulary with expectations that my researchwould be a little help to the improvement of the Grant Dictionary of Chinese Language.
