This paper is a report of translation practice. The original text is speech by Zhenghui, the president of headquarters of Agricultural Development Bank of China, at the conference of presidents of branches of ADBC. As a discourse in financial domain, this speech involves many technical terms and special words which can reflect China’s economic development While translating this discourse, the (?)sator attempts to apply Skopos theory as theoretical guidance, and for special words with Chinese features the translator applies methods of amplification, omission and literal translation.This translation report mainly consists of four parts. The first part is the translation project introduction, including the source, meaning, structure, etc. The prepared translated material, as a speech in banking industry, which has clear structure, precise vocabulary and solemn literary form is absolutely a rare ideal translation material. Additionally, the translation text of correlation type in related inoustries is relatively infrequent in domestic. Challenging and creative translation provides demonstrative and reference value for other related translations. The second part is the preparation process. Through analysis of the text and intended design towards translation procedure, the paper tells about finalizing the concrete procedure in translation and finishing it by translation practice. The third part is the translation difficulties and methods, including difficulty analysis, preparative work before the work and selection and sketch of translating theory and method. The writer is guided by translation theory of functional school and starts from the purpose of translation to make sure that the target readers of the translation text will feel the same in reading as the source-language writer. In specific translation, the writer possesses various translation methods in which the most representative belongs to amplification, omission and literal translation. Application of these methods still centers on needs of translation task, combining with related theory. The fourth part summarizes lessons, inspiration and problems to be solved in translation process. The writer looks back on what he learnt in translation, proposes some of self opinions and points out insufficiency remains to improve. In this translation report, the writer relies on theories as translation theory of functional school, combines translation practical experiences and adopts various translating strategies and concrete examples to demonstrate the importance of the theory in translation.
