In the vocabulary teaching of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language,Due tothe characteristics of Chinese vocabulary itself and the problem of the textbooks’complication,The efficiency of vocabulary teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreignlanguage is not high.In order to improve the effect of vocabulary teaching, The essaycome up with an idea:Let foreign students learn Chinese vocabulary through singingpopular songs.Popular songs in the vocabulary teaching in teaching Chinese as aforeign language has some advantages.For example,it can expand the students’Chinese vocabulary,provide multiple context for vocabulary learning,improve thestudents’ pronunciation and so on.I analyze the standard of selecting popular songsfrom two aspects:lyric and melody and come up with some standards.The popularsongs should easily understood,normative,interesting and the Chinese characters’tone should accord with the melody.I also point out some problems in choosingChinese popular songs.In addition,I have selected some suitable Chinese popularsongs and make a list in the essay.In order to improve the operability of applyingChinese popular songs in vocabulary teaching class,the essay bases on the song“tick”as an example to make a teaching design.I hope that this way can help studentsto improve Chinese vocabulary learning efficiency.The essay is divided into seven parts:ChapterⅠis the introduction which mainly introduces the topic’s significance,the research goal and the research contents.ChapterⅡis a brief introduction of the theoretical background of this study,andintroduce the situation of the songs in English teaching in our country and thesituation of the songs in the Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.Chapter Ⅲ:Analyze the problems of Chinese vocabulary teaching in theTeaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.The reason may be the characteristics of Chinese vocabulary itself or the weakness of textbooks’complication.ChapterⅣ:Analyze the advantage of applying popular songs in the vocabularyteaching of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.This chapter divided into twoparts:First,introduce general function of songs in foreign language teaching;and then,introduce the special function of Chinese popular songs in the vocabulary teaching ofTeaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.ChapterⅤ:Come up with some selected standards from lyric and melody thistwo aspects and point out some problems in choosing Chinese popular songs.ChapterⅥ:Base on the song “tick”as an example to make a teaching design inthe Chinese vocabulary teaching,including the teaching process and vocabularyextension practice.ChapterⅦ is the conclusion part.It summarize the research work of this paperand points out the innovation and deficiency.
