| With the intensifying competition, the internationalization of company has become anirreversible trend. The translation of enterprise management system represents a significantstep forward for the internationalization. To the practical text, how to convey the messageeffectively and accurately has always been a question that is worth considering and it remainsthe focus of this paper.This translation practice report is based on my translation task of Regulation ofTrademark Management and Regulation of Leave and Vacation Management. The writertakes the features of the translation text as the criterion of choosing translation skills afteranalyzing the feature of the original text and after reviewing relevant researches made bydomestic scholars. Owing to the strong objectivity and logicality of ESP, this type of text isfeatured by heavy use of terminology and long sentences and tendency of nominalization.The English long sentence is developed from basic sentence pattern. Viewed from thesentence form, the Chinese long sentence is characterized by coordinate structure. However,there exist different logical relations between internal sentence elements. The writer firstanalyzes the language features of ESP and the differences between the structure of Englishand Chinese long sentences. Then the writer adopts correspond translation skills in translation,such as conversion, omission, and sequence translation, order changing translation anddivision in long sentence translation, and demonstrates the feasibility of applying thesetranslation skills in translating practical texts from the practical perspective.This translation practice offers the writer a good chance to realize the essence oftranslation, that is, adequate preparation before translation, meticulous attitude in translationand rigorous proofreading after translation. In the end, the writer hopes that the personalexperience and translation practice will offer some valuable reference to the translationpractice of some kind. |
