A Report On The Translation Of �'СН 205-84 Electrical Equipment Designspecifications

With the constantly deepening of technical exchanges between China and Russia, technical translation has gradually become a type of common translation, with its importance being increasingly prominent. Therefore, with the example of “BCH205-84 Electrical Equipment Design Specifications” project during the internship at the translation company, I summarize the translation experience of technology materials, in order to strengthen the technical translation field communication.This report takes the translation project of “BCH205-84 Electrical Equipment Design Specifications” as an example to mainly study the methods used in translations of words and sentences in science and technology texts, which includes how to make translated terms equivalent to the original terms, how to select the most appropriate translation of abbreviations based on complete understanding of the original texts and how to utilize “Reinventing Sentence Structures” and “Following the Original Syntactic Order” to translate sentences and so on. While ensuring the smooth progress of the project, at the same time I found a lot of common problems in translating: for example, a translator can get over the difficulty in translating long sentences by analyzing sentence elements and seizing the sentence structures. To conclude and analyze the common problems in translation with correct translation strategies to ensure the accuracy and fluency.
