Practices have been treated as crucial components in Teaching Chinese as Foreign Languages(TCFL), which play an implacable role in every stages of learning Chinese. As overseas students, it is inevitable to do extra-curriculum exercise except learning in class. However, insufficient research focus on the exercise area contemporarily, especially lack studies in specific grammar and have not been a complete system yet.This essay will utilize four of the most popular textbooks which are Boya Chinese, Development of Chinese, Chinese Course and Conversational Chinese 301.Through the document analysis, analysis by synthesis and data statistics of textbooks “ba” exercise to classify statistics, found that“ba”exercises are substitution drills,sentence-making and so on.Refer to Chinese Proficiency Guideline and Grammatical Syllabus in the “ba”, and arrange them according to A, B and C syntax order.Order of “ba” appear in various textbooks, by contrast, found the order of “ba”appearing in each textbook are different,compered with the textbooks “ba”order with the Chinese Proficiency Guideline and grammatical syllabus are not the same order. Textbooks of “ba” does not fully cover the Chinese Proficiency Guideline and Grammatical Syllabus Sentence omission.Furthermore, based on the purpose, the rules and the former studies of TCFL, this essay classify three types of exercise which are mechanical exercise, meaningful exercise and interactional exercise. Through the analysis of specific exercise “ba”,pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of this type of practice, and then found that “ba” of the Exercises setting characteristics, more mechanical exercises and meaningful exercise, less communicative practice.Combined with the system of HSK composition, to outline the different types of mistakes in practical learning. The avoidance errors include simply missing“ ba”, lacking “ ba”,mising “ ba”with other preparations. The over use “ ba”contain that add several “ ba” in one sentence and misuse the structure of “ ba” with other sentences. There are also some mistakes of using “ ba”,such as mistakes of predicate verb, adverb and complement.Emphasis on the bias and the textbook “ ba”to practice subject relationship, found that some errors can be found in the textbook practice appropriate for avoiding such errors occur practice.Some errors generated because of the lack of such practice questions, my own has designed a number of their own bias against the practice.Therefore, this essay combined the type of “ba”with designs of textbook’s exercise to demonstrate that limitations of “ba” in exercise design of textbooks. The limitations are inflexible question types, unmatched grammar knowledge and practise, lack of practical interactions.Ensuring to mitigate above limitations, some plausible suggestions are offered, the priority is design practice of “ba” from low level to high level, and take more exercise of “ba” accompanied with the supportive learning context, Contact “ba” contextual and design “ba”practical questions.
