This is a report on the translation of World Report on Child Labour 2015 (Part 1,2 and 4) which is issued by the International Labour Organization in 2015. This World Report is a kind of investigation report that is targeted and practical, and its main content is the investigation to world child labour, which aims at paving the way to decent work for young people.In the report, the author analyzes the background, structure and characteristics of the original text in order to understand its purpose and function. In the process of translation, the author pays more attention to the flexibility of semantics, and adopts methods like meaning extension and the conversion of parts of speech to achieve precision and fluency. As for the long sentences of the source text, the author applies translation skills such as following the original syntactic order and reinventing sentence structures to analyze them and ensures to comprehend the text accurately.This report indicates that the precise translation is on the basis of the exact understanding of the source text. Therefore, it is the key step to translation to figure out the goal and function of the target text.
