Taboo is a common linguistic phenomenon. It exists in every aspect of daily life,which plays an important role in intercultural communication. Taboo teaching is an important part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and also a key link in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. How to introduce and what’ more, teach the taboo words are also attracted the attention of scholars.At first, the author defined the scope of this article through the analysis of the definition of taboo. It divided the taboo into two types, language taboo and body language taboo. The second chapter summarized the similarities and differences through the analysis of the cultural differences and taboos in the "Experiencing Chinese intermediate course", "Developing Chinese intermediate comprehensive course". In the third chapter, the advantages and disadvantages of the four different teaching methods in teaching Chinese as a foreign language are studied, and the linguistic taboos and cultural taboos in these teaching methods are analyzed. Based on this, the author discussed how to apply it to the practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language further. At last, the paper made a summary to the revelation of foreign language teaching through the analysis of the teaching materials, teachers and students.
