School is a place where a person can accept systematic and complete education. Since the ancient times society requires the people to show respect to teachers and paying more attention to the education. School education is paid more attention to and plays a great role in society. The educational work Marva Collins’ Way is regarded as the research object in the practice report, and Chapter One and Chapter Two were selected as the translated text.As a famous American educator Marva Collins wrote her own individual education experience in this book, which can inspire the Chinese teachers and parents and plays an important role in education.With the guidance of Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory, regarding to the problems in the translation process the writer uses cases analysis to discuss the translation of the abstract nouns, passive sentences and English long sentences. Meanwhile,combining with the characteristics of descriptive and narrative text that there are the most abundant vocabulary, the richest language phenomena and the richest styles, the writer finds out the corresponding translation strategies of translating the abstract nouns, passive sentences and English long sentences, and gets the high-quality translation in order to achieve the purpose of the functional equivalence.
