With the fast development of science and technology development in rapid speed, the translation of English of Science and Technology already has been an independent subject.However, its translation has unique features and techniques. Especially for ceramic English translation as one type of English of Science and Technology texts, its professional features are so obvious. The current research of English of Science and Technology translation leaves much room to be improved due to insufficient research on theories and practices.The research to ceramic English translation usually pays more attention to its features of words and sentences. However, ceramic English is a kind of practical English, and its function and information are so significant than language. As for its features and the function of the original text, this translation practice applies Newmark’s semantic and communicative translation strategies.This report mainly studies on ceramic surface design English translation from lexical and syntactical aspects in order to find a suitable translation method under the guidance of semantic and communicative translation strategies. Meanwhile, the last part on the basis of the features in ceramic English texts finds out suitable solutions in order to achieve translation with high quality. Finally, several translation methods are concluded so as to perfectly present original text in translation.
