A Practice Report On Translation Of The Tour Commentaries For Some Harbin Tourist Attractions

This is a Chinese-English translation practice report of the commentaries for Harbin tourist attractions.The aim of this practice is to provide the tour guide English commentaries.As a part-time Harbin tour guide,based on the understanding of Harbin tourist attractions,the author will link theory with practice.Trying to analyze the various problems which met during translation practice and then putting forward the corresponding solve strategies,finally completing the translation practice on the basis of ensure the quality of translate texts.This practice report is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the “Translation Task Introduction”,which includes the introduction of translation task,the translation requirements and the meanings of translation.The second chapter is the “Description of the Process of Translation Task”,which mainly composed by two parts: translation preparation and the translation process.The translation preparation includes the text type,background knowledge,specific characteristics and related theoretical preparation.While the translation process covers three parts: translation plan,post-translation review and emergency plan.The third chapter is the most important part of this paper,mainly discussed the problems of language and cultural that met during the process of translation,and provide the corresponding translation strategies under the guidance of the Skopos Theory.The fourth chapter is the last chapter of this paper,which includes the conclusion and reflection of this translation practice,presenting some qualities that translators need,and hoping to continually improve my translation skills.With the continuous development of economy,more and more foreign tourists come to China to travel,the importance of translate the tour commentaries into English is gradually highlighted.It is hoped that this translation practice report can provide some reference for the Chinese-English translation of the commentaries for tourist attractions.
