A Study On Rural Constrution Focusing On People’s Livelihood

Since China’s reform and opening-up, Chinese socialist rural construction has gained tremendous achievements, for example, economic development, democratic progress, cultural prosperity, satisfied citizens’ burgeoning demands for material and culture. However, as rural reform is deeper and deeper, social problems in countryside are increasing and social conflicts become increasing prominent. Rural construction has already become the weakest and, at the same time, the most crucial part in carrying overall socialist construction of our country forward. It is necessary to take effective measures to solve the most concerned about, the most direct and the most realistic livelihood issues of mass peasants.The thesis starts from the thoughts of people’s livelihood, basing on the theoretical foundation of the society construction thoughts of Marx’s and Mao Zedong, as well as the thoughts of leading comrades of the party about the livelihood and social construction in new period. It concludes the achievements gained by rural constructions in our country on the basis of the analyses of practical exploration made by rural social development before and after the opening-up. It also reveals the developments of countryside in education, employment, medical treatment through mass data information. The thesis puts up the critical question and makes deep analyses of it causes about rural construction which focuses on improving people’s livelihood, by employing the methods of document analysis, the combination of theory and practice, case analysis, etc. It also comes up with corresponding countermeasures to the rural construction problem. The thesis studies rural construction in six parts.The first part is an introduction. It mainly introduces research background, research significance, researches made at home and abroad as well as research methods; the second chapter is the part of theoretical foundation. It mainly studies the society construction thoughts of Marx’s and Mao Zedong, as well as the thoughts of leading comrades of the party about the livelihood and social construction in new period; the third chapter, exploration and review. It focuses on the development history of rural construction from the founding of new China to reform and opening up; the fourth part, exploration and practice. It mainly studies the achievements made by rural construction since reform and open up; the fifth chapter raises questions. It analyses rural issues on education, employment, social security system, medical system, social management from the perspective of livelihood thoughts, and it makes a deeper analysis on the causes of these issues; the sixth chapter is the part of countermeasures. Through the analysis of the problems and causes of rural construction, the thesis puts up corresponding countermeasures from improving rural social management, increasing rural income, perfecting social insurance, developing rural medical care.
