After the end of its civil war which is historically affected by the cold war, Cambodia has difficultly stood up by itself and been walking in the new bright era that enables this ideological war-ravaged country meeting democratic, peace, nation unity, state legitimacy and remarkable development which are desired conditions of Cambodian people in the whole country.In this context, the election which is the age of five legislative mandates as it was firstly organized by United Nations Transition Authority in Cambodia(UNTAC) plays legally and mainly role in keeping peace, national unity, state legitimacy reputation, national development potential on the path of democracy which was adopted by Cambodia’s institutional law. In the ideal that one state or one government is not for any person, any family, any particular party or any special group, but for all the entire country citizen, Cambodia’s elections legally allows all Cambodian people playing necessary role together to fairly and peacefully establish their state destiny by participating the country’s election to select their representative to work for them in the government offices. However, Cambodia’s peace, national unity, state legitimacy reputation, and national development potential is always not clear suddenly after the elections of all legislative mandates because of the election dispute potent which has been more serious and serious from one mandate to others. Cambodia election disputes have been broadly addressed to call for Cambodia’s electoral reforming to ensure its electoral integrity so the election reform has become the priority task to be done by Cambodia’ government and electoral stakeholders.To have a contribution to Cambodia’s government and other electoral stakeholders effort in reforming its election and to other research conducting, the research on National Election Reform in Cambodia mainly focuses on the analyzing on the potential data from the necessary documents that enable this research strong enough to find out Cambodia’s election advantages and disadvantages to be reformed; moreover, this research also highlights several valuable recommendations for the election reform. This academic research outcome is designed into five main chapters. Its first chapter is described about the research introduction components. The second chapter is described about the world import concepts about the election that are so worth for Cambodia to be learnt; the third chapter is described about the analyzing of Cambodia’s election system; the chapter four is described about the problems in Cambodia’s electoral system; and its last chapter is suggested about the research recommendation and research limitations. This research can be said as new work which embodies so many useful electoral theories to be studied and as guideline for Cambodia’s election reform as well.
