Research On The Development Of Nursing Home Care In Jilin Province

Since the1980s, the proportion of the aging population surge has become aglobal problem. Jilin Province entered the aging society in the year2003, and thedemand for care services are increasing from then on. The situation of agingpopulation is becoming more and more serious, what followed by is a series ofsocial and economical problems. On the one hand, the aging population bring hugepension burden to the development of society, on the other hand, it creats newopportunities for the development of pension services industry."Silver wave" gavebirth to the pension service industry which is now called "sunrise industry ".Things come after the policy of Birth Control in china, and now family sizetends to be smaller because a couple has only one child. Government encouraged fornon-profit organizations and individuals to provide nursing home services for theelderly people since the traditional supports for elderly people were decreasing dueto the socioeconomic development and one child policy. In recent years, nursinghome care expanded rapidly. However, the pension service system in Jilin Province,can not meet the increasing need from aging population. In order to meet withdifferent needs of aging people and to solve the problem existing in pension servicesystem of Jilin province, we should take deep research in the nursing home services.The improvement of nursing home services can reduce the burden of government, itis also beneficial to the aging people both in physical and mental health. What’smore? The nursing home services would contribute to the building of the pensionservice system. On the basis of study from other countries, I adopted the research method ofquestionnaire and interview. Then I study the development of home nursing care athome and abroad. A study on the development of nursing home care in China basedon the demand and supply was conducted in the Jilin province.
